RADIATION DISTRIBUTION IN DIFFERENT WAVELENGTH RANGES AT DIFFERENT COLOUR TEMPERATURES

Incandescent lamps generally emit useful radiation in a wavelength range of 0.5 – 5 microns. Such a radiation follows Black body radiation pattern. The peak wavelength shifts to lower wavelengths as the filament temperature increases. These graphs are used to determine the peak wavelength at various temperatures and can be useful in understanding the matching of absorption characteristics of materials with that of the radiation characteristics.
